Wooden Stretcher and Wheelchairs

"What if we could also make them sustainable, beautiful, and deeply human?"

In the medical field, devices are often made from metals and synthetic materials, chosen for durability, efficiency, and cost.

We set out to rethink what assistive devices could be. By designing wheelchairs and stretchers made from natural wood, we’re challenging assumptions about materials, usability, and emotional connection. Using structural wooden planes, each component is engineered for strength while allowing for flat disassembly, making transport and storage easier and more sustainable.

Wood is more than a material—it’s an experience. Unlike cold metal or plastic, wood offers warmth, texture, and a sense of familiarity. It feels like home. Our designs draw inspiration from furniture, blending the familiarity of daily living with the demands of medical function. This isn’t just about how a wheelchair or stretcher performs—it’s about how it feels to use, touch, and live with. In a field where safety and function often overshadow experience, we believe users deserve more. That’s why we’re proving that sustainable medical devices can offer strength, dignity, and beauty—all while being kinder to the environment.
